A nightmare journey to Berlin; a level of incompetence that I thought only British railways were capable of

A nightmare journey to Berlin; a level of incompetence that I thought only British railways were capable of. We have been sitting at Hamm for 1 hour 13 minutes now; I do not know why. There have been announcements but only in German; fair enough we are in the Fatherland but it is meant to be an international express; you would have thought there would have been at least one English announcement; even if it was just “Hello England”. I rest easy that a disastrous journey usually leads to a fantastic holiday. A smooth journey leads to boring holidays. I had already decided before we even reached Hamm that I would never get the train to Berlin again as it is just too long a journey—and that was before we just sat at Hamm motionless for 1 hour 20 minutes now, and counting. The number of people giving up and rushing off of this cursed zug grows by the minute. A totally full train is now at best 50% full.
